Request for Ideas for the Social Renewals Advisory Board

Message received from “Jillian” at COSLA (the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities):

Good Morning Folks,

You may be aware that on 9 June 2020, the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government and the Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People announced the creation of a Social Renewal Advisory Board https://www.gov.scot/groups/social-renewal-advisory-board/. COSLA is represented on the Board by President Alison Evison and SOLACE by Fiona Lees, East Ayrshire Council.

As part of the engagement work of the Social Renewal Advisory Board Scottish Government outlined plans earlier in the process to allow organisations and community groups out with the membership of the Board and the Circles to feed in.

Just launched is an online space where community groups and organisations can participate and share their ideas. A call for ideas and evidence is open until the 23rd October.  Further information can be found here https://www.gov.scot/publications/supporting-people-and-communities-call-for-ideas/ and the news release is here https://www.gov.scot/news/rebuilding-a-fairer-scotland-after-covid-19/

We’d be really grateful if you could share this information with organisations and community groups you work with to ensure widespread knowledge and participation.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like any more information.

Thanks in advance,
