Warm-and-Well-Borders-Project-Briefing.pdf

Warm and Well Borders will target vulnerable groups specifically through health and social care partnerships, to provide support and advocacy, and to tackle fuel poverty. Project officers will broaden referral pathways working cooperatively with the local voluntary sector, social housing providers, and community health and social care practitioners to extend the reach of the project and share project results. Warm and Well Borders will be delivered through a partnership between Scottish Borders Council, Changeworks, three local Citizens Advice Bureaux, Home Energy Scotland, health and social care teams and community health organisations.

New Local Authority Covid Restrictions

Due to the increase of Covid-19 cases in Scotland, the First Minister has announced further restrictions with some measures only applying in the central belt. These temporary measures will come into place from 6 pm, Friday 9 October.
These protective steps aim to control the rise of coronavirus cases and help keep people safe. We are not asking those who were shielding to do so again, however we are advising those who were previously shielding to be extra careful. This may result in an increase of calls to the national helpline. To support with any additional queries, I attach Q&A to help with these calls.
We also issued two text messages last night to those on the shielding list that have signed up to our messaging service – below are the messages that were sent.
Inside the Central Belt:
The First Minister has today announced further restrictions across Scotland, with tighter measures in your area. These protective steps aim to control the spread of the virus which is happening more quickly across the central belt, and safeguard you. For more information on the restrictions, please go to www.mygov.scot/shielding
Outside the central belt
